Lottery

GUPA has maximized all available timeslots for indoor field availability within the City of Guelph, but due to increased demand and popularity of indoor ultimate Frisbee, there is potential that GUPA will not be able to accommodate number the teams who want to register for the season to the limited number of timeslots.

Based on feedback from the AGM, in situations where GUPA cannot accommodate the number of team registrations, a lottery will be held to determine which team registrants can participate for a particular league.

Details on the Lottery Procedure

If the number of team registrants exceed the timeslots accommodations and a lottery is required, the winning team from prior season will automatically be awarded a position in the league provided that registration is paid and the team has met the roster minimum (4 females and 6 males).
A draw will be completed one day after Registration is closed with the rest of the teams that meet the minimum deposit and team roster requirements. Once selected by the lottery, the team captain will have 4 days to pay the balance of the team fee in order to secure the spot. The teams not selected by the lottery will be placed on a waiting list. If a team fails to pay the balance of the team fee after the 4th day of the lottery, the next eligible team on the waiting list will notified of the opportunity to join the league and will have 24 hours to pay the balance of the team fee to secure their spot.

Note: If a chosen team fails to pay the balance of the team fee after the 4th day of the lottery, the deposit is forfeited and will not be refunded. Deposits will be returned in full to the teams on the waiting list after league is officially closed
